Isokinetic Testing of the Lower Extremities – New at Scipion
The new isokinetic testing machine, the only one of its kind in Europe, has arrived at Scipion! This advanced device marks a significant step forward in our capabilities for assessing muscle strength and sports performance, as well as in the rehabilitation of athletes.
This is already the second isokinetic machine for the lower extremities that we own. Our first machine focuses on exercise, while this new machine will provide testing capabilities that will further enhance our services. By combining these two devices, we can offer a comprehensive approach to training and rehabilitation, ensuring that our users receive the best possible care.
The new machine will be used to test muscle strength, enabling precise analyses that will help identify potential imbalances and weaknesses. These measurements are crucial for assessing progress in rehabilitation and sports performance, allowing our therapists and kinesiologists to tailor training programs to the individual needs of athletes. Its testing capabilities enable us to monitor rehabilitation progress, ensuring that each athlete safely and effectively returns to the field.
Investing in this unique machine reaffirms our commitment to excellence in rehabilitation and sports training. With our team of experts—orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and kinesiologists, this machine will be a key tool in helping athletes achieve their goals, improve their performance, and safely return to their favorite sports. We look forward to all that awaits us!
Frequently Asked Questions:
What are the benefits of using this machine in rehabilitation?
The machine allows for precise measurement of strength and progress, which helps in designing individualized rehabilitation programs.
Who can use the machine?
The machine is suitable for all ages, from athletes to recreational users, and is particularly beneficial for individuals in rehabilitation after injuries. The recommended age is from 10 to 85 years.
How are the measurement results interpreted?
Our team of experts will analyze the results and provide detailed explanations about strength, endurance, and progress.
How long does testing on the new machine take?
Testing typically lasts between 30 and 40 minutes, depending on the specific measurements being conducted.
Can the dual motors measure both extremities simultaneously?
Yes, the motors are monitored as soon as the first extension begins and are used in a continuous motion to measure alternating extension/flexion, displaying each repetition to easily identify imbalances and fatigue in both legs.
Can the testing results be shared with other healthcare professionals?
Yes, the results can be made available to doctors or physical therapists outside our institution to ensure comprehensive patient care and continuation of rehabilitation.
What are the speed ranges?
From 1-2 deg/sec to 500+ deg/sec. Maximum force, as in isometric load, can also be measured. It measures speed, power, range of motion, peak torque, peak speed, endurance, fatigue, and acceleration time. It has a reporting function for comparison.
Can the exercise machine be adjusted to correct imbalances?
