He will start working at the Scipion polyclinic in 2022 as an assistant fitness trainer. Following his interests and following intensive theoretical and practical education at our institution, he further specializes in the physical preparation of athletes and kinesiotherapy of sports injuries, with an emphasis on overexertion syndromes. Due to his specific talents and special sensibility, we continue to educate him towards the rehabilitation of patients with complex diseases, which affect multiple organ systems, and whose treatment cannot follow the usual protocols, but must necessarily be maximally individualized, both in diagnostic and therapeutic aspects.

Previous work experience: He has been intensively engaged in dance for over 15 years, and from 2010 to 2016, and from 2022 to 2023 he was a permanent choreographer for Ivona Brnelić in the RiS studio center. She led a group of all ages at dance studios K2K and Trinity.

Employed in our institution since 2023. During this period, he further improves his knowledge of three-dimensional movements and their diagnostic and therapeutic potential. By combining the possibilities of our kinesiology laboratory, his dance experience, additional education in manual therapy and the tension model of the starting system, he is able to create and implement unique and highly effective treatment procedures that we rely on when simpler procedures within physiotherapy are simply not good enough.

Previous experience:
He is a volunteer at 2 Rijeka Runs (Homo si teć), a physiotherapist and at the national triathlon championship in Vrsar. From manual technique, he passed the Mulligan manual technique in Zagreb in September 2023.
Employed at Scipion Polyclinic since 2022. Then the main focus of his interests becomes manual therapy, in addition to which he undergoes intensive theoretical and especially practical education in our institution with an emphasis on the higher school of manual therapy, all through the lens of our original Tension Model of the locomotor system. His specific skills enable us to provide exceptionally individualized physiotherapy for chronic degenerative diseases as well as overexertion syndromes.
Mislav Čimić was born on August 8, 1977 in Zagreb. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zagreb in 2001 and obtained the title of Doctor of Medicine. In 2002, he enrolled in postgraduate scientific studies at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics of the University of Zagreb. In 2004, he began his specialization in orthopedics at the Dubrava Clinical Hospital, and in 2007 he completed a specialist post-graduate course in orthopedics at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zagreb.
Having defended his master’s thesis “Anatomical fluctuations and radiological indicators in adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis”, in 2008 he obtained the academic degree of Master of Science. In February 2009, he passed the specialist exam in orthopedics and obtained the title of orthopedic specialist. Since 2010, he has been a lecturer and mentor to students at the University of Health in Zagreb. Since 2011, he has been employed at the Orthopedic Clinic of KBC Zagreb and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zagreb, and in the same year he enrolled in scientific postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zagreb. Since 2016, he has been employed as an assistant, and since 2022, as a senior postdoctoral assistant at the Department of Orthopedics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb. In 2020, he was awarded two subspecialties, one in pediatric orthopedics and the other in traumatology of the locomotor system. In 2022, at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zagreb, having defended his doctoral dissertation “The influence of biological and biomechanical factors on the wear of polyethylene in Intraplant HI total hip endoprosthesis”, he completes the post-graduate scientific study of Biomedicine and Health, field of Clinical Medical Sciences, branch of Orthopedics, and obtains an academic the degree of Doctor of Science.
The dominant field of professional and scientific interest of Dr. Čimić is the conservative and operative treatment of spinal deformities, an area in which he continuously improved his skills in the country and abroad. So far, as part of his professional development, he has completed numerous courses, and as a lecturer and invited lecturer he has participated in numerous courses, symposia, national and international congresses. He has been the president of the Croatian Association of Health Professionals in Basketball for many years, and is a permanent court expert in the field of orthopedics and traumatology. He is a member of the Croatian Medical Chamber, the Croatian Medical Association, the Croatian Vertebrological Society, the Croatian Society for Pediatric Orthopedics, and a member of the board of directors of the Croatian Association of Orthopedics and Traumatologists. As an author or co-author, he has written numerous scientific, professional and review papers published in magazines in the country and abroad, and he is also a co-author of several chapters in books and textbooks. He is married and the father of five children.
At Policlinica Scipion, he runs a scoliosis clinic, and together with a team of physiotherapists and kinesiologists, he applies the most modern methods of treating developmental disorders of the spine, primarily in children and adolescents, but also in the adult population.

In addition, he is the author or co-author of 18 scientific papers in the field of physiology, operative options for treating the brain and spine, and endoscopy.
He showed a special interest in conservative treatment options for painful conditions on the spine. At Scipion Polyclinic, he runs a vertebrology clinic, where, together with a team of physiotherapists, he develops innovative methods of non-operative therapy for degenerative diseases and conditions after spinal trauma.
Specialist in orthopedics
He attended primary and secondary school in Opatija. In 1970, he entered the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka. After completing his internship, he got a job in 1977 at the Lovran Orthopedic Hospital, where he worked until his retirement in 2017.
At the beginning of his specialist career in 1979, he immediately started dealing with sports traumatology. Was on residency in Basel (Switzerland), where he learned arthroscopy and sports knee injuries from well-known experts (Prof. Werner Müller and others). 1984 he was among the first in Croatia to start practicing arthroscopy, which today is the basis of the treatment of athletes. 1987 spent a month at Columbia University in New York where he perfected shoulder surgery and arthroscopy. He was among the first in Croatia to perform arthroscopic stabilization of the shoulder in the early nineties.
He was the doctor of the men’s and women’s volleyball team, and later the Davis Cup team (2010-2013). 1995 silver medal in women’s volleyball. 2002, men’s volleyball world championship. He operated on numerous athletes.
As head of the Department of Orthopedics in Lovran and a member of several international associations, he organized many national and international symposia, and as president of the Croatian Society for Sports Traumatology and Arthroscopy, he worked on improving arthroscopic surgery of all joints. He was an international instructor in knee and shoulder arthroscopy courses. From 2009-2017, he was a member of the board of directors of ESA-ESSKA (an international association of shoulder specialists).
He is a member of the Rijeka Association of Health Professionals in Sports, the Association of Sports Doctors of the Croatian Medical Association, he was the president of the Arthroscopy and Sports Traumatology Section of the Croatian Medical Association, and several European professional associations (ESSKA, AGA, AAOS).
At the Scipion Clinic, he has been running the general orthopedic clinic since 2012, where he, together with a team of physiotherapists and kinesiologists, develops innovative methods of non-operative treatment of shoulder, hip, knee and ankle pathologies.

He was born in 1979 in Rijeka.
He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rijeka in 2006. He passed the specialist exam in orthopedics in 2012. Since 2007, he has been employed at the Special Hospital for Orthopedics “Dr. Nemec” Matulja. On several occasions, he was educated at clinics in Slovenia, Germany, the Netherlands, Slovakia and the USA. He regularly participates in important professional congresses in the country and abroad. He devotes special interest in professional training to knee and shoulder surgery.
At the Scipion Clinic, he has been running an orthopedic outpatient clinic since 2018, where, together with a team of physiotherapists and kinesitherapists, he is expanding the area of non-operative treatment of disorders of the shoulder girdle, knees and hips.

He has been working at the Scipion Polyclinic since 2015, and during that period he took over the field of kinesiotherapy of the spine, as part of the Spinal Department within our Polyclinic. It includes the zone of corrective kinesiotherapy of disorders in the growth phase, as well as preventive and therapeutic procedures in degenerative and traumatic vertebropathies. In addition, his focus is also on kinesiotherapy of shoulder girdle and hip disorders, and sports rehabilitation.
It is the initiator of our center for functional testing, which enables not only specific diagnosis of disorders, but also very precise therapeutic intervention, while shortening the total time required for treatment.

He has been working at Scipion Polyclinic since 2019. His own sports experience, combined with intensive practical education within our institution, directed his interest towards the physiotherapy of acute and chronic sports injuries and degenerative diseases of the joints, especially of the knees and hips.

He has been working at the Scipion Clinic since 2012, during which time he independently established an osteopathic outpatient clinic, with a special interest in the field of holistic approach to diagnosis and therapy of the starting system, as well as an integrative approach in the treatment of mechanical visceral and neurological disorders. He is the initiator of a unique conciliar environment within clinical decision-making, which has become a trademark of our Polyclinic.

Intensive practical education within our institution and outside it, focus his interest in kinesiotherapy of overexertion syndrome, as well as complex physiotherapy procedures in degenerative diseases, especially of the spine and joints of the upper extremity.

He has been employed at the Scipion Polyclinic since 2009, when he took over the sports program at our institution, and takes care of the physical preparation of professional athletes who gravitate to our institution. He is also the manager of recreational and preventive programs for the general population and convalescents. Within the educational and experiential framework of our institution, he specialized in kinesiotherapy of knees, hips and ankles, with a special interest in the late phase of post-operative recovery of athletes, and as a preparation for returning to sports.
Generations of professional and recreational athletes have passed through his expert hands and are still passing through in search of a quick return to full sports fitness.

In the broad spectrum of his interests, the treatment of chronic degenerative joint diseases occupies a special place.

He is the founder and head of the spinal department of our polyclinic, within which he creates a unique approach to diagnosis, treatment and prevention of functional disorders of the spine based on the latest scientific knowledge and experience.
